ABOUT Willie Anderson

The Willie Anderson Lineman Academy was founded by former NFL Offensive Tackle, 5X Pro Bowl player and 3x All Pro, Willie A. Anderson. Highlights of his football career started as early as high school, where he was the 1992 Bobby Dodd National Lineman of the year out of Vigor High School in Prichard Alabama. He was the 6A player of the year (which at that time was the highest classification in the state). He was the #1 ranked player in the State of Alabama and #3 ranked player in the country. Anderson spurned then National Champion Alabama to sign with its rival Auburn. Anderson helped Auburn win his first 20 games, finishing 20-1-1 in his first two years at Auburn. He would become a 2X All SEC performer. He as an All American as well.

After only 3 years of college, he was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals as the 10th overall player in the 1st round of the 1996 NFL draft.

This astounding competitor had an extensive twelve-year career with the Bengals, from 1996-2007. It was during this era that he was a 5X Pro Bowl performer and a 3X All Pro. He had a streak of 117 straight games from 1999-2007. Overall, this persevering athlete played in 200 total games (including playoffs). Willie Anderson finished his career in 2008 with the Baltimore Ravens. He had so much endurance and strength on the field that he became known as the “Iron Man”. 

Having a favorable NFL career did not occur by “luck” but with skillful technique, drive and talent.

Not only was Willie a phenomenal competitor, but he was also a stalwart in the Cincinnati and Mobile, Alabama communities. Anderson was a two-time recipient of The James Brown Community Award, given out by current CBS sports host, James Brown, for outstanding community leadership. His foundation gave away scholarships for underprivileged kids, donated food and clothing to the homeless and sponsored Boys and Girls Clubs. Willie A. Anderson is a legend, both on and off the field.
